Easter rushnyk

In Ukraine, a bread cloth was used on weekdays to cover bread on the table, and at Easter — to cover the blessed paska and the Easter basket. It preserved the warmth of the baked goods and served as a reminder of the value of everyday life. The cloth protects the bread, and the bread fills the cloth with meaning.
